Road traffic lights are one of the traffic safety facilities we encounter in daily traffic. Road traffic lights indicate pedestrians, vehicles or other traffic participants to pass according to the specific color displayed by the signal lights or a set countdown interval.
What is a road traffic signal? How are traffic lights classified by function? What kinds of traffic lights can be divided into? At present, China’s traffic lights can be divided into the following categories according to their functions:
1. Motor vehicle signal lights: a group of signal lights composed of red, yellow and green independent geometrically-positioned unpatterned circular units. When the green light is on, it means that vehicles can pass; when the yellow light is on, it means that vehicles that have crossed the stop line can pass; when the red light is on, it means that traffic is prohibited.
2. Non-motorized vehicle signal lights: a group of signal lights composed of circular units with a bicycle pattern, in which the geometric positions of red, yellow and green are separated. When the bicycle pattern is displayed in red, it means that all non-motorized vehicles are prohibited; when the bicycle pattern is displayed in yellow, it means that non-motorized vehicles need to pass the stop line quickly; when the traffic light bicycle pattern is displayed in green, it means that non-motorized vehicles can pass .
3. Pedestrian crossing signal lights: a group of signal lights, composed of circular units with pedestrian patterns, in which the red and green geometric positions are separated. When the pedestrian mode is displayed in red, pedestrians are prohibited from passing; when the traffic signal pedestrian mode is displayed in green, pedestrians can pass.
4. Direction indicator signal light: a group of signal lights, composed of circular units with the same direction arrow pattern, three geometric positions are red, yellow and green. When the arrow is displayed in red, it means that pedestrians, non-motorized vehicles and motor vehicles are prohibited from passing; when the arrow is displayed in yellow, it means that vehicles and pedestrians crossing the stop line need to pass quickly; when the traffic signal arrow is green, pedestrians or vehicles able to pass.
5. U-turn signal lights: a group of signal lights, red, yellow, and green are geometrically separated, and there is a U-turn circular pattern unit inside. When the U-turn mode is displayed in red, it means that pedestrians or vehicles are prohibited from turning; when the traffic signal U-turn mode is displayed in yellow, it means that vehicles or pedestrians need to quickly turn around when crossing the parking line; when the U-turn mode is displayed in green, it means that pedestrians or vehicles can U-turn.
The editor briefly introduced several classifications of traffic lights. A group of signal lights is composed of a yellow round unit without a pattern or more than one yellow and blue square geometric units, which is a warning function.
