Traffic signal lights are a category of traffic safety products. They are an important tool to strengthen road traffic management, reduce traffic accidents, improve road use efficiency, and improve traffic conditions. Traffic signal lights display different light colors in turn to direct the passage or stop of traffic. It is suitable for crosses, T-shaped intersections, and is controlled by a road traffic signal controller to guide vehicles and pedestrians to pass in a safe and orderly manner. So do you know how to arrange traffic lights?
The arrangement of traffic lights can usually be divided into the following two types:
(1) Horizontal arrangement.
From the side of the center line of the road, they are arranged in the order of red, yellow, and green toward the curb. It is often used on roads with wide pavement.
(2) Vertical arrangement.
from top to bottom are red, yellow, and green lights. This method is often used on narrow roads. Arranging the signal lights in a fixed manner has two advantages: one is to put the red light signal in a prominent position; the other is to enable people with color blindness to judge the meaning of the signal by its position. The installation of signal lights over the center of the intersection shall meet the requirements of the vehicle clearance height limit. The brightness of the signal lamp should ensure that people can see clearly beyond 100m.
